What is your new job?
As an Software Engineer at Airborne UK you will work within a multidisciplinary project team to solve some of the most complex challenges in composite manufacturing. You will use your knowledge of software development life cycle and be involved with the entire software development life cycle to develop solutions for wide range of applications from creating digital representations of manufacturing processes, programming microcontrollers to control machinery or acquiring information from sensors on the machinery to developing tools using frameworks such as OpenCV, TensorFlow. You will develop hardware prototypes for data acquisition, machine control etc.
In your function as Software Engineer you ensure that all technical communication with internal stake holders such as project leaders, engineers, and technicians is clear and understandable. You are able to define the customer's technical requirements and issue both technical and functional specifications. You will support the project manager with defining work packages, planning, and organising technical activities. You will be equally comfortable working with Linux and Windows operating systems. You will write well-structured, testable and well commented programs, with a focus on simplicity and maintainability and care about quality of the program you write.

We expect that the job will be about 90% engineering and 10% project engineering tasks.
Reporting Lines and Interactions
You will report to the function manager in Airborne UK. You will work together with your colleagues in the business unit (Project Management, Mechanical-, Automation-, Process Engineering), Airborne UK’s partners, colleagues in Airborne NL, suppliers, and customers.
